Landowners who have leased Natural Gas storage rights to SNGS have received their signing bonuses. Those who have signed leases prior to the beginning of 2011 have already received at least one lease payment. Seventy-five percent of the property owners in the project area have signed leases and additional leases will be pursued. Please contact us if you would like to sign your Natural Gas storage lease or receive further information.
SNGS has maintained a policy of providing the same lease formula to all property owners and has not and will not negotiate special deals with individuals.
Compensation and Estimated Property Owners Lease Payments
SNGS wants to make an Offer that is more than fair and equitable to all landowners whose property extends over the Natural Gas storage field. This Offer actually exceeds both the Appraisals of fair market rental made by the firms of Harold W. Bertholf, Inc. and Integra Realty Resources. It is the intent of SNGS to treat all landowners, including the City, on the same basis and without any price discrimination.
1. For those that sign Natural Gas storage rights leases early there is a $1,000 per acre signing bonus; not to be less than $500.
2. Annual lease payments will be made at the rate of $1,000 per acre not to be less than $500 annually.
3. Parcels smaller than 0.5 acres (most residential parcels approximate 0.18 to 0.2 acres) will be treated as 0.5 acres, such that the signing bonus and the annual minimum rental for such parcels will be no less than $500.
